Lissa Xavier, from Kannur, Kerala was stunned by life, when her husband abandoned her and leaving the weight of aged parents and children on her shoulder alone. “I was completely in darkness at that stage, don’t know what I could do to in my life anymore”, Lissa recalled. The stumpy income she used to get from a match box company as a daily wager was nothing to full fill even the basic needs of her family and children’s education.

Through our continuous skill training and monetary support, Lissa gained considerable confidence and she started cow rearing as an income source. The trainings helped to develop entrepreneurship and communication skills in her, which are essential qualities of an entrepreneur. Slowly she begins to earn good profit to run her family efficiently and with that profit she became able to expand her business and bought another cow and calf. She was inspired and thrilled with the success of her business and also started doing chicken rearing with the assistance of Save A Family Plan.
Eventually, Lissa earned enough income to repair her house well and provide schooling for her children. Our financial support along with the guidance and monitoring from field staffs changed the life of Lissa for good. Her husband later came back to the family and now supports her in her ventures.
